'Where beautiful artwork is brought to life'
β’ Jennifer Rose
Living in the beautiful village of Storrington, West Sussex, I am surrounded by the stunning South Downs on my doorstep, with glorious sea views just a short distance away. I am never short of inspiration from the beautiful scenery, flora and fauna that surrounds me.
I love walking through Parham Park, which is very close to where I live, where I can often spot an abundance of wildlife, especially stags, which I particularly love to paint.
With a BA Honours degree in Packaging Design from the University of Farnham, Surrey, and many years working in the commercial art and design industry, I have always been surrounded by creativity. My previous role as Packaging Designer at Carte Blanche Greetings allowed me to work across many different sectors, developing my skills and understanding of design, illustration and bringing artwork to life for the marketplace.
Over the years, I have learnt so much about the creative process and now apply my commercial knowledge and artistic experience to my own business, Jennifer Rose Gallery, which I established in July 2013. Through my gallery, I market and license my artwork to a variety of clients and create designs that bring joy to everyday products.
With a love for working in my natural, loose watercolour style, I create artwork and designs that are brought to life across a variety of home and gift products. Through working with licensing partners, these collaborations have helped my artwork reach a wider audience and share my creative style with customers around the world.
Since my first trade show in early 2018, I have continued to grow my artwork portfolio, developing new opportunities and seeing my designs brought to life across a variety of product collections.
Over the years, my artwork has been brought to life across a variety of products and collections, reaching customers through retailers including Wayfair, Dunelm, B&Q, The Range, and Debenhams.
From creating watercolours to teaching others how to paint them
After many years of creating watercolour artwork for licensing, stationery, homeware and gift collections, I now love sharing the skills and techniques behind my artwork with others.
This journey inspired me to create The Watercolour Studio, a place where beginners and developing artists can learn how to paint beautiful watercolours with confidence, at their own pace.
Inside The Watercolour Studio, I guide you through the foundations of watercolour, including wet in wet techniques, water control, layering, colour mixing, and much more.
Whether you are picking up a brush for the very first time or looking to build your confidence, my gentle step by step lessons will help you enjoy the process and create paintings youβll be proud to frame, display in your home, or give as thoughtful gifts.
I would love to welcome you into The Watercolour Studio and help you discover the joy of painting with watercolour.

My loose watercolour style
I LOVE using watercolours! I find its medium simply magical to work with and always an excitement when it creates unexpected beautiful effects such as watermarks. I naturally work with a loose style, and I like to use a lot of water when I paint to create layered effects. I begin by creating pockets of detail and I like to leave sections out for curiosity to the viewer taking a βless is moreβ approach. I like to add in additional unexpected colour to create lift, which brings my atmospheric paintings to life and an element of sophistication is created.
Taking inspiration from the world around us, people and nature, I create beautiful artwork for everyone to enjoy and take home.
