[VIDEO] How to paint a cat in loose watercolour

Have you seen the NEW loose watercolour tutorial I’ve added to my library?

In this latest class I am working from photo of a gorgeous ginger cat, Zeb; which really shows off his personality and his lovely vibrant ginger orangey colour; which are both fabulous to capture in loose watercolour.

We’ll be applying painterly brush strokes and using a combination of wet-in-wet and wet-on- dry techniques. We will want to pay particular attention to Zebs’ bright eyes, his distinctive colour and fluffy texture, and the markings to his head.

We will also include a complementing background in the layering process which will enhance his golden hues and help balance the tones within our painting. We’ll also want to observe the shape and patterns with watery mixes.

I have applied these techniques on many of my loose watercolour pet paintings, and you can too. It’s always so wonderful to feel like you’ve captured the loving personality of a family pet which is unique to the owner and can be treasured forever as a special painting.

Painting portraits in my loose watercolour style make such lovely keepsake gifts for family and friends and loved ones too. Especially with Christmas around the corner.

Here’s a little preview of the class:

I hope you’ll find this new loose watercolour class as exciting as I do!
