Inspirational Journal: How to paint a loose watercolour bluetit

Inspirational Journal: How to paint a loose watercolour bluetit

I love to paint garden birds, and the colourful bluetit is one of my favourites to capture in my loose watercolour style. Their distinctive blue and yellow feathers are so vibrant and fresh.

They are also a really popular feature on my giftware collections. I have many products which feature my garden bird watercolours – like this cushion below:

Each bluetit has its own special character that always comes to life as I drop beautiful blue and yellow hues onto the watery paper. What do you think?

They are such a lovely subject to paint and you can see how I painted this bluetit by following my free mini class available in my good friend Anna Mason’s school. See you there!
