Painting a loose enchanting Bluebell Woodland
I just LOVE all of the hazy blue -purple AND pink colours the carpet of bluebells display at this time of year!
This May time, I’ve discovered a secret bluebell woodland close by to where I live, which is so enchanting and inspiring! I couldn’t wait to take my paints and some various paper sizes with me to capture the colours of the bluebells I was seeing en- masse, and distinctive trees with sunlight shining through them – So much to see all at once – Gorgeous!
Here is a photo of the bluebell woodland, so quiet and peaceful, and full of scent. The birds were singing so sweetly – I wanted to stay forever!
Sitting down quietly, I began to mix my blue and purple paints together to colour match the bluebells close to where I was sitting. There’s often a question asked: ‘Are bluebells actually blue of purple?’, but I would have to say from my colour mixing observations that they are actually both!
I couldn’t help but notice the pink shades too which were popping up – so many colours working harmoniously together- nature really is magnificent!
Come and take a further read of the actual colours I used to create my bluebell woodland – I think you’ll be surprised!
Have you visited a bluebell woodland recently? I’d love to hear your stories and observations in the comments below – I always enjoy reading them.
Love Jennifer Rose xx
