In this lesson, you'll learn five essential watercolour techniques that form the foundation of successful painting. We'll explore flat washes, graded washes, wet in wet, wet on dry, and layering (glazing), helping you understand how paint, water, and paper work together. By the end of this lesson, you'll feel confident practising these core techniques and applying them to create beautiful, expressive watercolour paintings.

If you don’t have the equipment and paints I recommend, get creative and try with what you have handy.
- Paper: 300gsm Arches (140lb) cold pressed watercolour paper or a sketchbook.
- My sheet size is: 38x56cm (15 x 22inch).

- Water in a pot
- A scrap of paper to practice your colours with by your side- optional).
